Biomaterials
Major new commercial opportunities will result from the development of advanced biological materials. We are developing leading edge capabilities in the synthesis and application of new biopolymers with potential in areas such as cosmetics, medicines, adhesives, new industrial materials, advanced food materials, bioplastics and bioactive packaging.

The key to this research is the discovery and harnessing of unique properties of biopolymers and other extracts from renewable biological resources.
