interpretation of nutrition and health-related information.
This information can be used in food marketing, promotions,
product labelling and nutrient calculations for nutrition information
panels. All reports are written and verified by nutrition scientists
and dietitians at Plant &
Food Research. These reports are confidential unless you request
the data be included in the New Zealand Food Composition Database.
Analytical services are
available for product development, labelling and nutrient claims.
Plant & Food Research can analyse foods for specific nutrients
and/or non-nutrients (e.g. antioxidants).
The New Zealand
Institute for Plant & Food Research Limited and the Ministry of Health
jointly own and fund the New Zealand Food Composition
Database. Staff at Plant & Food Research manage and maintain the database.
