Information for the food industry TheNutrition
Information Panel Database is available free and is designed
to assist food manufacturers in preparing nutrition information
panels for their products. It contains seven core nutrients for
more than 2600 foods.
Dietary assessment software Both Foodworks and SERVE-NZ incorporate data from the New
Zealand Food Composition Database in a nutrient analysis software
programme. These programmes can be used in various settings including
dietetic practice, food service, nutrition research and education.
SERVE-NZ contains 53 nutrients for more than 2600 foods; it also

jointly own and fund the New Zealand Food Composition
Database. Staff at Plant & Food Research manage and maintain the database.
