Health & Disability Intelligence (HDI) - Ministry of Health
HDI is the epidemiology group of the Ministry of Health. HDI monitors the health of the New Zealand population. The site includes access to HDI Online, a powerful interactive map for accessing health information.

INFOODS
“INFOODS is a comprehensive effort, under the United Nations University Food and Nutrition Programme and co-sponsored by the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations, to improve data on the nutrient composition of foods from all parts of the world”. The site features include a link to the Journal of Food Composition and Analysis; listing of national food composition databases and information on availability; and the directory of international tagnames for food components.

USDA Nutrient Data Laboratory
A useful site for learning more about food composition database development and application. You are also able to search for nutrient data with the United States Department of Agriculture database.

New Zealand Food Safety Authority (NZFSA)
This site has information on food labelling for consumers, industry, policy, law and science. It contains up-to-date information on allergens, pathogens and chemicals in New Zealand food.

Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ)
This site contains the Food Standards Code in full text and updates on the progress of food regulatory issues in Australia and New Zealand.

Manufactured Food Database

At this site you can search the database for manufactured foods that are free of egg, gluten, soya, milk/lactose, peanut, legume and/or wheat.

The New Zealand Dietetic Association (NZDA)
This website contains information on
nutrition-related topics for dietetic professionals and the public. Visit this website to ‘Find a Dietitian’ for dietary advice.
