Effects of soil management practices on earthworms

The size of earthworm populations in soil fluctuates in response to changes in agricultural practices.

Some of these management practices such as pasture improvement have been shown to encourage earthworms, whilst other practices, like using soil fungicides, can have very deleterious effects.
