Crop & Food Research is a New Zealand-based biological science
company researching new knowledge in five main areas:
- sustainable land and water use
- high performance plants
- personalised foods
- high value marine products
- biomolecules and biomaterials.
We have an annual turnover of some $55 million (2007) and a staff of 370.
Our research funding comes from a mix of local and international
industry and government sources, and we carry out research covering
the spectrum from fundamental to applied research.
We focus on developing intellectual property in our areas of expertise
and capturing and sharing the value of resulting developments with
our partners.
We are developing our research capabilities and networks in Australia
through Crop & Food Research
Australia. Collaborative research involving scientists on both
sides of the Tasman, with support from New Zealand and Australian
governments and industry, is producing exciting business opportunities
and a range of healthy new food options for consumers.
