Working in New Zealand

New Zealand is a country of 4 million people located in the Southern Hemisphere. It has a temperate climate with large areas of mountains and wilderness. Its economy depends on land-based industries and tourism. Most Crop & Food Research sites are located in attractive rural areas close to major cities.

Applicants must be legally entitled to work in New Zealand and should preferably be New Zealand Citizens. If you are not a NZ Citizen, you must have permanent residence status or an appropriate work permit or be able to obtain permanent residence status or an appropriate work permit within one month of any offer of employment. If you do not satisfy these criteria, Crop & Food Research does not guarantee that your application will be acknowledged or accepted.

If unsure of your entitlement to work in New Zealand, you should check the New Zealand Immigration Service website at www.immigration.govt.nz
