Crop & Food Research is the foremost New
Zealand winter nursery provider. We have been involved in partnerships
with major Northern Hemisphere plant breeders since 1972. Our services
range from single seed planting to large scale seed multiplications,
i.e. just a few (2-10) seeds, single plant or single head rows up
to multiple longer rows, or multiplications from less than a kilogram
to several tonnes.

Breeding programmes
Crop & Food Research has breeding programmes for the following
crops: wheat, durum, triticale, barley, oats, potatoes, peas, forage
brassica, maize. The programmes are based at two major research
stations, Lincoln and Palmerston North.
A large number of Northern Hemisphere breeders have been growing
out-of-season nurseries with Crop & Food Research for many years.
Considerable expertise has been developed to meet particular overseas
breeders' requirements, both for the return of observational data
and/or seed. This work is separate from our own breeding programmes.
