Education, training and information group

We are a New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA) accredited provider, with over 35 years' experience in training and education.

We offer National Certificates in:

Baking
The National Certificate in Baking levels 2, 3 and 4. This is a combination of workplace learning, off job assessment and Distance Learning. The off job assessments are practical courses that are attended by apprentices or those with relevant experience in the baking industry. To achieve the National Certificate in baking you must be working in the baking industry or have previous experience in the baking industry.

The Distance Learning courses consist of theory unit standards and anyone can enrol in these courses.

Food Processing
The National Certificate in Food Processing levels 2, 3 and 4 are for any persons who are working in a food or related area. We can help with setting up appropriate training programmes and we offer some of the unit standards.

If you want to find out more about baking or food processing as a career option or any of the above information please download our brochure (pdf 67KB) on baking and food processing.

An enrolment form (pdf 251KB) is also available.

First Line Management
We offer the National Certificate in First Line Management Level 3. The training and assessment is completed through a combination of Distance Learning and facilitated tutoring. Training packages are customised to meet the needs of each company. For more information contact Alison Dundass-McIntyre.

Modern Apprenticeships in Baking and Food Processing
We also co-ordinate the nationwide modern apprenticeship scheme for both the baking and food processing areas. Modern apprenticeships are available to persons aged 16-21 who are New Zealand citizens or permanent residents. We can assist with recruitment and screening, match apprentices and employers, support the employment relationship, mentor the apprentice, ensure that training is successful for both the employer and the apprentice, and ensure that training and assessment in key skills are provided.

If you are interested in becoming a baking or food processing Modern Apprentice or are an employer looking for staff, more information is enclosed in our enrolment booklet (pdf 58KB). Contact Margaret Stokes or call 0800 325 666.

Customised Training Packages
